This recipe had no flavor at all!! There was way too much sour cream. I was thinking of possibly reducing the amount of sour cream and maybe adding ham cubes or shredded chicken to it to give it some more flavor. Easy recipe but very bland and boring.

I made this casserole for Father's Day Brunch and it was a big hit! I made it exactly as the recipe states except I used cheddar cheese only and I used the Simply Potatoes never frozen packaged hash browns. I would highly recommend making this casserole!

I make this all the time and it is so easy to tweak to my families liking. I use onion powder and also it is also great with crushed corn flakes on top. I also tried using a sea salt/black pepper kettle chip as my topping and it was fantastic! They added extra crunch and flavor. I have also have had good luck using other cream soups depending on what I have on hand. Cream of chicken or mushroom works well. I think this recipe has a great flavor, exactly what I would expect from a recipe titled Creamy casserole, not zippy.

I made this tonight following the recipe exactly. No one ate more than one bite. All was thrown down the garbage disposal. It was way too sour with the sour cream....less sour cream and more soup? If I made this again, which I doubt, I would leave out the sour cream, use cream of mushroom soup, and top with ritz cracker crumbs.

This recipe was very quick and easy clean up. The flavors are good but it could use a little more onion. I loved the crunch from the potato chips, reminds me of the crunch of grilled hash browns. I used cream of chicken soup instead of celery and i shredded my own cheese and use mozzareala instead of jack cheese.

This recipe had no flavor and no taste. I was really disappointed in this recipe by Paula Deen. She's such a fabulous cook and this recipe is not her best work.

Paula Kudos to you and all yor recipes! However, this casserole with the Avocado Egg sandwhich, and the sausage with maple syrup whooooowie just made me and my families mouth just water. We are going to make the whole dish you made tonight for dinner! I will be back to share our tastebuds experience after we have eaten! If it is watering now I could only imagine how wonderful it will be to actually have it right in front of me. Thanks for sharing this with the rest of the world. You cook just like my momma use to God Rest Her Soul! Thank you for making me feel at home with your family!

Hey Paula! Recently saw the Rise and Shine episode and thought all recipes sounded amazing!!! Im a single 22 gal and my parents were coming for Easter at my place and decided to make the Creamy Hash Brown Casserole! This recipe was so easy and delicious! Though I was short on my sour cream....I improvised and used a cup of cottage cheese blended! I used ritz crackers for my topping...!! I cant wait to make the egg sandwich with the cream cheese spread and avocado!!
