Recipe was very easy and yummy! Read previous reviews and only cooked for 2 hours (on low setting adding 1/2 grated cheese on the top at the 1.5 hour mark. Also used slow cooker liners by Reynolds to avoid a messy clean up. Be sure to stir about every 30 minutes.

I didn't understand why you would have to precook everything then put in crockpot so I did a little experiment. I mixed everything together, even raw noodles, and cooked it on low for about 2 hours or so. It worked well. I don't like Campbell's cheese soup, yet I'm a fan of using those soups, so next time I will use some velveeta?

Paula I have made many recipes for mac and cheese. I think this was one of the best. Came out creamy and cheesy just like on your show. I thought maybe it was a bother to put in the crock pot,but once you put it together you can just forget about it.

I'm an L&D nurse at an extremely busy hospital and we are the "partying unit" in the hospital. I'm known for bringing some of the best dishes to these pot luck parties. I made this mac & cheese for a Wed. night party and transferred it into a portable baking dish. Only to find out that the party was a week later. So, I froze the dish at work and prayed it would be okay. The following Wed. I had to defrost the mac & cheese in the microwave (because I forgot to transfer it into the fridge that morning. My reputation as the girl who hides her grandmother in the kitchen was untouched, and there wasn't one noodle left over!!!

This mac and cheese recipe is the best. I would recommend stirring often to make sure the ingredients are well incorporated. 3 hours would be too long so it depends on your crock pot. My 5 kids loved this recipe and couldn't get enough. The recipe states that it serves 12, but my family of 7 finished it and that's w/5 kids! This is our new standard macaroni and cheese recipe which takes the place of mine that has been in the family for generations. Thanks Paula.
