The sauce was grainy. Consistency was awful. Followed the recipe exactly. I will not be making this again

OUTSTANDING! Best mac-n-cheese ever! It's a treat when I make it, and never lasts long...creamy, cheesy delight!

My husband and son and daughter say this is the best macaroni and cheese they ever ate. I was skeptical at first because of the slow cooker and no crust on the top like my mom use to make. I said i'll put it under the broiler for a minute after it is done lol once i tasted it i forgot that idea it is fantastic the way it is. I took it to a family get together on July 3rd thinking there would be plenty left to bring home with the hot weather and all the other tons of food....wrong...my husband got a plateful just in time... I could go on and on about this recipe

LOVE LOVE LOVED IT!! I changed a few things. Scratched the sour cream (not sure if I want that in my mac, added 1/2 cup of heavy cream, seasoned with paprika, pepper, accent, and dash of onion powder. I'm from the South I need seasoning in my food. It's a very hearty taste-----my hubby loved it. I passed it on to my girlfriends. I turned the crock pot up to high after cooking for an hour and a half. I though it was to soupy and wasn't going to cook down enought. But this only added to the cheese becoming a little grainy. Other than that (my error it was a great dish nonetheless. Adding it to my rotation!

After reading some of the reviews here are the changes I made with really good results!!
Microwaved the butter and cheese and wisked for smoothness
Swapped the whole milk for heavy cream
Added 1/4 cup more sour cream
Added a dash of garlic salt
    Added more pepper
Cooked in crock pot for one hour and fifteen minutes

Perfection!! My four teenage son's loved it!!! and so did I.

    will make this again!

I made a variation of this recipe becaue I didn't have everything. I had to bake it because I didn't have my crock pot. It still came out nice and creamy. I had to use penne noodles because I was out of macaroni. I used brown spicy mustard becaue I didn't have dried. I only used 2 eggs because that's what I had. I also used a can of evaporated milk because my whole milk had spoiled. I also used some monterey jack because I didn't have enough sharp. I like the combinaion of 2 cheeses. I boiled my noodles in salted water so the noodles wouldn't be bland. I used white pepper and I used more of it. Lastly, I didn't have any sour cream so I left it out. Now with all of these changes, I can't imagine changing a thing. Now I would be scared to add the sour cream because I feel like it would have a twang or sour taste which is not what I want. My husband and I loved it, by stepson still wants his blue box mac and cheese.
