This soup was excellent, I changed a few things (hope you don't mind Miss Paula. I split one butternut and 1 acorn squash, added some salt and pepper along with butter and a small piece of breakfast sausage cut up and baked in oven until done. I fried a couple pieces of bacon for the grease and added some onion and garlic then the squash let cook together for 1 hour then added some fresh nutmeg along with about 2 tablespoons of brown sugar. I will definately make this soup again (not bad for someone who never eats soup. Thank you Miss Paula for another great recipe.

I was never a butternut squash fan but when I made this for me and my fiancee for dinner one night, we were just amazed. I'm definitely sold. I took advice from other recipes and put a touch of nutmeg and brown sugar...and what a wonderful dish. It was filling too!

Great flavor, very easy. I added a bay leaf when it simmered and some nutmeg with brown sugar.

This turned out so good, but Paula was right when she said you needed a good knife! I loved the soup, but I will not chop a squash again until I get a decent knife.
