I made this for my father and he loved it. Now he is always asking when am I going to make that toast again. It is very easy to do and the presentation is beautiful.

This was an easy and delicious recipe. I made it for a late afternoon "breakfast for dinner" and it was wonderful. It would be even better with a bit of hollandaise poured over the top.

I made with smoked ham & american cheese. Still really good. I've had this for breakfast 3 times this week. Will try with different cheese next time.

My husband was still talking about this the next day. It is great, easy to make and very good. Next time I think I will top it with a light sauce like she suggested

My husband and I made this for supper last night. We made it exactly by the recipe but we used store bought real mayonnaise (don't skip this step and it was so good! We will make this often. Way to go Paula!

After seeing this recipe this morning, I added everything to my grocery list and made it for lunch. I used swiss cheese rather than gruyere and I think it tasted fine. I would recommend you get a smoked ham without a honey, maple or brown sugar flavor.

This is a very simple dish to make and I plan to make this at my small family reunion this summer. I think it's perfect to make as people wake up since they are individual servings and it's pretty dang quick.

I, for one, LOVE Paula's take on French cuisine.

I am from Paris and grew up eating Croque Madame. Sorry but in the REAL croque Madame you put emmental cheese, ham and bechamel sauce (butter, flour and milk. Then on the top you had sometimes shraded emmental (NEVER mayonnaise Paula! and an egg. This way you'll have the greatest croque madame!
