Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread, cubed
  • Peanut oil, for frying
  • Dash dried parsley
  • Dash Parmesan
  • Dash House Seasoning, recipe follows

Directions

Allow bread cubes to sit overnight to become stale.

Heat a couple inches of oil to 350 degrees F in a large saucepan or straight-sided skillet. Add bread cubes and fry, stirring constantly, until browned. Remove and drain on paper towels. Season and serve with your favorite soup.

House Seasoning:

1 cup salt

1/4 cup black pepper

1/4 cup garlic powder

Mix ingredients together and store in an airtight container for up to 6 months.

    You will definately enjoy these! I altered this by frying them in EVOO and used half a loaf of french bread. You can half... the recipe by just using your judgement with mixing the dry ingredients and dash with freshly graded parm. Enjoy!Read more

    I didn't have any luck with these croutons. They were pretty good the first night I made them. I stored them in a ziploc... container and tried them the next night and threw them out. They had became stale. I don't know maybe the bread was old, but they were edible the first night.Read more
