I fell in love with apple pie with this recipe.. incredible easy and delicious!
I tried it with a simple homemade crust and with puff pasta (like pastry and works perfectly with both!
Don't forget the ice cream!!

This recipe was so easy and very delicious. I'm not a strong baker but took a chance and brought the pie as my contribution to a Christmas dinner. The folks at the party raved over the pie. I felt so cool and couldn't believe it was my dessert that was getting so much talk.

I followed the tips from the other reviews and cut down the amount of applesauce that I used. I made an 8 inch pie, so I used about 4-6 ounces. I didn't have any applesauce on hand, but I did have a lot of apples. I decided to make Alton Brown's simple applesauce recipe that includes a touch of brandy or cognac in it. OMG! the applesauce recipe is fantastic too!! This made the most amazing apple pie I have ever had. I found my new apple pie recipe (and home made applesauce too!

This was a wonderful recipe! I usually am the "go-to" apple pie-er; & this just might be my now "go-to" recipe!
I changed a few things, one being 1/2 the applesauce. It cut beautifully & was fabulous alone or with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream on top! Out of 5 different desserts this was the first & only one all gone! LOVE LOVE!

I am not a fan of her recipes but this one is definately a keeper. Nothing better than a simple recipe that not only has a rich taste but will give your guests and family something to talk about! Give this one a try and I am sure you will agree that is definately one recipe you will keep!

This was the best apple pie I have made thus far. The apple sauce added richness that has been missing in other pies I have made in the past. I made this for Thanksgiving along with Paula's sweet potato pie. Even though everyone liked the sweet potato pie, the favorite was the apple pie. I served it a la mode and it was a huge hit. Very easy to make. I used Pillsbury Pie Crust since I'm not a baker and don't have the time or patients to make my own crust and it was delicious!!!
