Trying to make more food from scratch to avoid unnecessary additives. This was my first time making the pie and would suggest using less applesauce. The pie was better after it set overnight - it was a bit firmer. When I baked the pie I used the crunch topping but also baked with another TSP of butter in small pieces across the top..it was delicious. I think I read where someone said use 10oz that sounds about right 16 oz is way too much...enjoy.... this is a great pie....

I have made this pie a few times & it never dissapoints. The only alterations I make are using 10oz Cinnamon Applesauce & double the crunch top!!!

Best Apple Pie Ever, easiet pie filling I have ever made. This was made by my husband for me in place of a cake. My parents are die hard cherry pie fans and this pie converted them. Pula Dean is a night time meal heroe. One day she'll be as famous as Apple Pie its self. We didn't make the topping just cause we were in a time crunch, but the filling was out of this world

I made this pie for my hubby and was happy overall with the pie. I cooked the crust slightly before filling to avoid a soggy bottom following directions on everything else. The flavor is great...the only thing we were not happy with was the consistancy of the apples. We would make it again though thanks Paula!

Well, I really liked this recipe alot! I did decrease the amount of apple sauce that some below had recommended. I used a mix of Fiji and green apples and also I had doubled the crunch topping, and I have to say that I really was proud of what I had made. My family commented on it alot over Thanksgiving.I had also served it with some vanilla ice cream too. YUMMM!!!!!
