This pie was actually magnificent. I used granny smith apples and took suggestions from other reviewers. I halved the amount of apple sauce and doubled the crumble topping. Good ideas! I definitely agree because it turned out perfectly. More apple sauce would have made it too soupy. I made this pie in the UK. The apple sauce is a little different here. Very chunky and sweet - quite delicious. Made for an absolutely fantastic and very easy apple pie. I will definitely make this again. My friends raved about it!! :

This a my first apple pie that I baked and it turned out to be a hit!! I omitted the second crust and doubled the crumb topping and only used 8 oz. of cinnamon applesauce ( I bought a 6 pack for the 8 oz portion the cooking time was a bit longer than the 45 mins but all in all I will be making this pie over and over again!!! Thank you Paula!!!

Paula hit the ball out of the park with this recipe! With the crispness of fall in the air, I felt the urge to bake an apple pie. Wanting to try a new recipe, I came across this one. Let me tell you, it was extremely easy and came out delicious. Everyone loved it! Case in point, my 8 year old who normally doesn't care for sweets (hard to believe, I know absolutely devoured this pie. Will definitely be an addition to my holiday menu. I used cinnamon apple sauce (half the amount noted in recipe and doubled the topping as recommended by other posts. Simple marvelous!!

This was my first time baking an apple pie. The recipe was so easy and the end result was perfect. I baked this for my husband's birthday ad he loved it. I followed the other recommendations and only used 8oz of the apple sauce and doubled the crunch top topping. Very good and I don't even like apple pie. I'll use the full amount of apple sauce next time 1 person thought the pie was a bit dry but that was 1 out of 15.

This is the best apple pie I've had!! My family and friends have asked me to make it throughout the holidays. I agree with the comments about 1/2 the cinnamon applesauce and doubling the topping, maybe even tripling.

This recipe was actually pretty good. My grandma and brother really enjoyed, lets see the rest of the family :. Overall the reviews were right you do have to add less apple sauce and you need to cook it until most of the liquid is gone. Nice recipe.

Turned out wonderful! It was my first time making a pie and it was super easy! Made it for our 4th of July dinner with my family and everyone loved it. Tastes even better with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream! I will be making this again for sure!

I never have apple sauce in my house, so I've never added it. I used Honeycrisp apples and THAT make this pie HEAVENLY!!!! Honeycrisp apples are a bit more juicy than others, so I typically use a 3 tbls flour to keep the juice thick. Otherwise, it's a bit runny. But coming from someone who has NEVER liked apple pies, this is a HUGE compliment to this recipe! Enjoy!!!!

This was an awesome combination of a lattice and a streusel topping. I used 8 oz of cinnamon applesauce (it was all I had instead of 16oz of regular, added a little more apple, cut the lemon juice in half, and doubled the topping, using 1 tbs. of sugar, and 1 tbs brown sugar. Yum!
