Fantastic!! I am not very talented at doing the lattice top, so what I did instead was used a 1/2" round glass vial to cut holes all over the dough rolled out on wax paper. I then just flipped the wax paper onto the filled pie and peeled it off the "holy dough"...lol!! It turned out fabulous and was so easy!!

I love this recipe! I make this with Paula Dean's home made pie crust every year for Thanksgiving for the past 3 years. I am not a big Pumpkin Pie fan so this is my yummy substitute. It is very easy and tastes amazing. I love the leftovers and eat it in the morning for breakfast with a cup of coffee.

This was the first homemade pie I have ever made (shhh!, so I was nervous -- reading through all of the reviews and taking note. It was shockingly simple to make. The most time-consuming part is peeling and cutting the apples. I did double the crunch topping and added a couple dashes of cinnamon to both apples and topping. Absolutely delicious. I've decided to make it for our Thanksgiving Dessert as well. Thank you Miss Paula!

This was so delicious and easy!! I followed the other reviewers advice - doubled the crunch, used half the applesauce and added cinnamon to the apples. Used more apples to - close to 5 cups (apprx 6 apples Also added a little nutmeg and apple pie spice. SO GOOD!! I did cook it for almost an hour. Be sure to chop the apples and not slice them. Used granny smith and golden delicious.

I agree with the other reviews.... way too much applesauce. It is a very good pie but will half the amount of applesauce next time.

The raves i got from this recipe were unbelievable! i reduced the applesauce a bit. The only thing i could not figure out, was my crunch topping was not brown and crispy. Don't know what i did wrong for that.
