This was the first time I have ever made an apple pie and it was fantastic. I am an experienced baker just not in pies. I followed the advice of other reviewers and added more apples, extra spices and doubled the topping and baked it 15 more minutes. It turned out wonderful. Not too sweet, not too tart (I used granny smiths. I will definitely keep this as a favorite. Try this, you will love it!

I tend to use a different recipe each time I bake a pie. Still looking for "The One". I believe I found it. Everyone liked it over the holiday and when I returned home I baked another. I may tweek the cinnamon a bit for my taste, but the addition of apple sauce made all the difference.

I have never made a pie before, let alone a pie crust from scratch. I used Paula's perfect pie crust and followed the recipe exactly, adding a bit more of the crumbled topping. It was DELICIOUS! And very easy to make for a first time pie baker! I will make the pie again, and use the pie crust recipe for any other pie I make!

Wonderful and easy, perfect crust. Just cut down applesauce to half the amount and used unsweetened applesauce. (use unsalted butter
Everyone loved it!!!

This is good but even after cutting back on the sugar it was a little too sweet for me. I also cut back on the applesauce but didn't like the texture it gave the pie. It seemed almost store bought and not in a good way. It is still good but I don't think I'll make this again. I would like something more traditional.

The crust is sooo good and worth making for any type of pie. The crumb mixture on top give it great taste and texture and makes it look like a pie baked by a professional! Be sure to let the pie cool before cutting so the pie has a chance to "firm up".
