I was looking for a non-pumpkin dessert to make for Thanksgiving this year and after reading the reviews for this pie, I decided I would try this out. I was pretty nervous because I have never made a pie before. I am really glad that I took the plunge and made this one because it is fantastic. My sister-in-law told me that it looked like something you'd see in a cookbook or magazine when she saw it. The texture and consistency of the apple mixture was perfect. I would definitely make this one again!

Thanks for the great apple pie - and especially your tips in making a great flaky crust. I will never use store-bought crust again if I can help it. I will be making this pie for Thanksgiving -- again!

I made this apple pie for the first time 3 years ago at Thanksgiving. it was the first time i had ever made a pie. I cheated and bought the crust the first year, but it was still delicious! My family LOVED it!! i have very picky eaters in my family, but they all wanted more and i had to make 2 for Christmas that year. so now ever since I have had to make these yummy apple pies for Thanksgiving and Christmas and even a few birthdays. This recipe will always be a plus in my book! I love it and you will too!!!!!!!

You can 'blind bake' your pie crust first. Make the pie crust and fill in pan. Cook in oven at 350 for about 8 minutes. To avoid bubbling, liine crust with sheet of parchment paper, and fill pie crust with rice or beans. This will weigh down the crust, making it look more appealing, and cook more evenly.

I just made this pie last night.. Loved the taste, but the the bottom crust did not look done. How do I fix this problem? Since I bought a ready made crust would I have to bake it first? Please help!

This was the first apple pie I've ever made and it was so easy and the taste was outta this world .... I did the lattice and triple crunch top,,,It looked so purdy, I hated to cut it...but I could'nt resist, had to have a bite and as Jerry Clower would say, "It'd make a puppy pull a frieght train."
