I have seen several reviews of this recipe that talk about bacon. Only one said that they got the bacon from a topping for another recipe. Would someone, please, tell me where the bacon is in PAULA's recipe?

Did anyone else notice that the ONLY negative reviews are from those who did not even make it...(LOL! or peope who are apparently "patrolling" the internet for recipes that upset them? If you are so concered about fried food, then no need to click on a recipe involving FRIED mac and cheese...get off your soap box already...many of us know how to workout, and seldom eat food like this, but thanks for your input anyway I think it's time for you to go annoy your family members with your rhetoric. Paula is a cook, she is not your NUTRITIONIST!

This recipe turned out perfectly, one thing I did do was par-cook the bacon first. It's a great way to change up a comfort food like mac and cheese.

Paula, you're doing a fantastic job of bringing beloved recipes of the South to us in the West and to the rest of our great country. I can appreciate a good comfort food every now and again, even one's with an added twist. I really enjoyed this recipe. Mac and Cheese is an American favorite whether you're health conscious or not, it just is. You can either eat it or not. Your choice. Worrying about what our neighbors are eating, well... the simple truth of that is we don't have much control over the uncontrolable. Free will is a part of life. This isn't the place to talk about politics or what we believe. If it were, I'd have a lot more to type in. Review the recipes. Thank you again Paula for your wonderful recipes! I enjoy watching your show and so far, every recipe I've attempted, has turned out pretty darn well.

I was skeptical, when I first saw this aired on the Food Network, but with all the left over mac and cheese from Easter, I thought, "what the heck?". Now, I can say that somethings fried, in moderation, are wonderful. I have read all the other posts, of how we are killing ourselves, and nobody who loves you would serve this to you, and tax payers are footing the bill, but c'mon people! Lighten up, tried it, not everyday, and you may find that it is wonderful and Paula Deen has out done herself again!! Thanks Puala. Deep from the heart of Texas, and proud!!!

I've only read the recipe and the reviews, but the entries from "gluttony" and "heart stopper" sure make me want to try this with a side of chicken fried steak and fried gravy. Does anyone know if you can fry gravy???? Guess I'll have to put down my 12 whole grain bread long enough to heat up my grease! I can't wait!

The comfort food of mac and cheese is taken up a notch with this one! Warm and delicious! Not for the health conscience, but all things are good in moderation. Thank you, Paula, for another winner!

With some leftovers from Thanksgiving we were trying to find new ideas for dinner last night. I remembered seeing this episode and quickly cut up the mac and cheese and fried it..everyone loved it!! My husband was looking for something to dip it in...not sure what would be good...ranch dressing maybe?!

My 2yr old kept asking for more~!!

    Thanks
