I made this on the same day it was shown on Paula's show and I will be making it for Thanksgiving. When it came out the oven I burnt my finger trying to eat it. The cake lasted approx. 2 days. Could not stop sneaking little bites! Wish I could eat this everyday. Thanks Paula!

I try not to eat many sweets, but when I do, I want something sinfully chocolate!! This cake will not disappoint. My friend baked me this cake for my birthday and I cut the leftover half into squares and put them in my freezer. I'm sad to say that I ate the last piece last night! I found the "Pumpkin Gooey Butter Cake" recipe on-line and can't wait to make it for Thanksgiving.

Has anyone tried a Blueberry or Cherry Gooey Butter. Do you use canned, fresh, or frozen. Any other flavors tried? She mentioned banana and pineapple. anyone tried those?

Thank you Paula for giving me something to bring to every pot luck, holiday dinner and special occasion with your chocolate gooey cake. I am going to switch it up this year and do the pumpking gooey cake for Thanksgiving and do a peppermint one for Christmas.. HAPPY HOLIDAYS to you.....

This is one of the most sinful chocolate concoctions I have ever tasted. A piece of this with a nice glass of red wine, and I was in heaven! My husband paired his with vanilla ice cream, and that cake was gone within a couple of days! Of course I believe chocolate is a joy that should be shared, so I brought some in for a couple of friends at work, and they were stunned speechless! Definitely a winner, and so much fun to make!

This cake is so gooey and delicious that it was voted #1 amongst the cakes in our office bake-off! I tested it the week before, and would advise to bake no more than 45 minutes. Also, when the cake is first out of the oven I learned to peel off the hardened sugary crust that forms in the corners and on the very edge. When you try to chew that part, it just becomes a chewy wad of sugar. The cake is excellent with that part peeled off. I wish I could figure out a prettier presentation. I ended up cutting this into squares and serving in a punch bowl. Everyone loved the taste - thanks, Paula!!

This cake is SOOO easy to make yet is incredibly delicious! I rarely eat sweets even though I love chocolate. This is so worth the occasional 'cheat/treat'! I can't wait to try other flavor combos.

Melissa from MN, don't add 3 eggs for sure. The point is to make a crust, not a cake. The texture of the mixed crust should be about like playdoh, give or take, not a batter consistency. If it was dryer than that, then first place I'd look is the Cake Mix. I tend to only use Duncan Hines. I've found that store brand are hit and miss on quality.

This is so sinfully good that I told my DH he needed to ask forgilveness, on his knees, before he ate it, that it definitely is NOT for the calorie conscious! The second time I made it, I didn't have a chocolate cake mix, so I used moist butter yellow mix and added one-half cup cocoa. Did it ever work. I thought about calling it a triple chocolate gooey butter cake! It's good, y'all.

I make this all the time and bring it to parties and everybody loves it. Sometimes I make it with pumpkin, sometimes I make a lemon one, sometimes chocolate and coconut. I swear you cannot go wrong with this dessert.
