I watched Paula and Jamie make the toffee gooey cakes on TV a day or two ago. I decided to make the gooey cakes with chocolate chips and nuts and take them to work. They were a HUGE hit. I'm telling you, these little cakes are just delicious. They are great for pot luck dinners and so easy to make. I will say mine cooked in 40 minutes so the first time you make them watch them closely. Thanks Paula!

This recipe is amazing!!!!! My whole family loves it and its the popular request for get-togethers. However, I may sound crazy but I add an additional stick butter to the top batter. It makes it even gooier.

I am attempting to create a Valentine treat for my son's class using this recipe. I made the recipe as directed but then I chilled it in the fridge for a few hours. After it was cooled off, I used a small heart shape cookie cutter and cut 20 heart shaped "brownies" out. I haven't decided whether or not I will put Valentine sprinkles on them or not (they have enough WOW to stand alone but I'm sure the kids will love them either way. Bonus: My husband was able to eat the pieces that didn't make it into hearts!

I have made this several times and each time I get rave reviews! I have made it with and without nuts. The last time I made this, I followed the recipe with regard to adding nuts to the top layer and I also added them to the bottom layer. Yum!

It was delicious! I am a chocoholic so I added a chocolate ganache topping after the cake cooled. It's very rich, but very very good.

I needed something yummy and easy to make for a Thanksgiving dessert. The butter cakes were simple to make, and they were a popular item at the dinner table! Thanks, Paula!

AWESOME! Been looking for this variation of an all-time favorite for years. My mother and grandmother used to make something similar. In our part of the country (Kentucky it's called Chess Cake. I got a hankerin' for this today and looked up my mom's recipe. Hers called for a yellow cake mix and no cocoa in the custard filling. Everything else is exactly the same however. CANNOT wait to try this one! Thanks!!!!
