Made this yesterday for a family Sunday dinner. Everyone loved it, even the nonveggie eaters in our group of six. I paired it with a sour cream pork chop dish, and the contrast of cool green beans and yellow peppers against rich, creamy pork sauce was wonderful. The beauty of this dish is the bright colors and interesting combination of crisp items (veggies, nuts, bacon, which made it a bit exotic. Then there is the surprise but very light sweetness of a hint of honey. It’s a cool salad that comes together because you plunge the beans into ice water, which eliminates several hours of chilling in the frig. I will definitely make this quick and colorful salad again. I changed nothing about the recipe. It was perfect as described. Above all, it certainly improves ordinary old green beans.

Ive made these beans 2 x! They are the best recipe ever!! The 1st time I made them for 10 adults and 12 kids and everyone raved about them! The next time I made them I didn't have any cashews but, they still tasted GREAT!!

Have a lot of beans in our garden. Trying out new recipes. This one is really a winner. Have made it twice in the last 3 nights. Used almonds instead of cashews. Will continue to use this recipe. This is one of the best recipes I have used with beans and I have tried a lot of them over the years. Thanks, Paula.

This was a great recipe and I'm glad I found it! I used another recipe the night before and the green beans came out terrible and tasteless. So terrible, I wanted to throw out the rest of the green beans, but instead I decided to look for another recipe and came across this one! This one was so much easier and much tastier. I didn't use onions or bell peppers, but I threw in some carrots. I also used turkey bacon for less fat. However I think you can use bacon bits to add to crunchy taste. Also, I think you could omit butter, even though I didn't. This recipe makes me want to buy more green beans!!! Very tasty!

I used 2 pound thin french green bean bag from Costco and microwaved in bag (with corner cut per label instruction for 8 minutes on high. Perfect! Did rinse in cold water; no lemon. Used five slices bacon and all fat; full onion, slivered. Slivered roasted red peppers from jar (Trader Joes, soy sauce and fresh garlic in place of terriaki sauce and no honey (to avoid sugar. And, chopped almonds in place of cashews. All worked and delivers a great, flavorful dish. I have no doubt that it is equal in appeal and taste to the original recipe.

We did not cut the beans in half or salt and pepper the beans in the skillet like a previous person mentioned. I would highly recommend doing this as they did end up a little bland and it was clear the rest of the flavor combination was fantastic. Even without these additions there were no leftovers!

This will be the third Christmas that I will be making these to include in our Christmas feast. Everyone absolutely LOVES this recipe!!! Everyone gives things their own special touch so I use shallots instead of onions. And I make extra sauce!

These are great. A bit heavy (due to the bacon grease but that is what gives so much flavor! I am shocked at those who say they don't have flavor ... did they drain all the bacon grease out? Will make for special occasions or pitch-ins ... a bit heavy for weekly home use.

This is the perfect dish to take to a gathering. Not too difficult to make. Everyone raved - no leftovers. I am always asked to bring them back.
