We have been making these bars at Christmas time for many years. Yes, the recipe is not new, but I am glad that Paula still showcased it. There are a lot of people out there who are afraid to try out new recipes. With Paula showing how easy and delicious they are, the love of these bars is spread. What is the big deal, really? They are delicious and always a hit in our house!

Very easy & delicious.. substituting the pecans with sliced almonds worked great for me and definitely great for gift giving.. just cut them up into bite sized squares and package them in nice tin or box you're set. Everyone asks me for them now!

This recipe was extremely easy to make and turned out beautifully. Yes - they're unhealthy, but as we know we don't make cookies like this for health food. I've also substituted the butterscotch and chocolate with white chocolate and dried cranberries, which also works really well.

This is a keeper. I added more chocolate for my taste, perfect every time.

As another reviewer noted, these bars are about the worst thing you could throw at your waistline, however, they are so incredibly good that you won't care one bit! So easy to make, moist and delicious, I love them! And for pete's sake, would you people please get over the fact that the recipe is not 100% original. Paula obviously knows what she's doing to be where she is today. GET OVER IT!

I love Paula, her recipe's are so simple and easy to follow. I added 1/2 cup of toffee chips to mine, making it a 6 layer bar!

I thought this recipe was very good...quick easy...no fuss. As others have noted, it's very sweet and rich so cut those bars small! I love coconut and this was a perfect fix. I wanted to comment on the fact that this is the same recipe from the can of sweetened condensed milk....This is a good recipe. I'm not a big Paula Deen fan but I will say that if it hadn't been for her show I wouldn't have known about these bars. As far as I'm concerned it doesn't matter that it's from a can. She demonstrated this recipe on her show and that is what got me to make it. I think we all have our favorite foodnetwork hosts...it would be nice if everyone rated and reviewed the recipes for the quality of the finished product...not because of our love/hate for the show's host.

A little strong on the chocolate chips, so I cut back on them by a quarter cup & added a quarter cup more butterscotch chips...mmmmmm!!!
