My daughter and I watched Paula make these on her show and immediately after went to the store to buy the ingredients. A great dish for kids to help with. . . and sinfully delicious!!!

These cookie bars are heavenly. Paula says you just need a little taste because they're so rich but I just about ate a whole line of them out of the pan! They remind me of the Samoas Girl Scout cookies. Wonderful!

This is a great recipe, one of my favorites. My grandmother used to make it for us when we were kids, and now I make it a few times a year. What does it matter that it isn't Paula's own? She never said that she created it. Get over yourselves, people. How sad that you have nothing else in your life but to gripe that Paula did such a horrible thing as sharing with everyone a popular, old-time recipe that <gasp> wasn't a Deen original!

I admit that this recipe will result in a tasty end product, but as a couple other people have noted, this recipe is not really hers. This basic recipe can be found on the label of Eagle Sweetened Condensed Milk and in Eagle Brand cookbooks that are a half century old.

This recipie is so good, although I don't put as much coconut into the recipe as it calls for...just becuase of some family members. But they are delicious.
