I love these bars, but they tend to disappear on me. I made a batch....gone. Made another batch the next day....gone. I'm sure they will be showing up on my family's waistline. Thank you Paula

This recipe was easy and delicious. The only thing I found was that I needed more crust to cover the bottom of a 9x13 pan and I found that it was useful to spray a little cooking spray in the pan. I also used FF sweetened condensed milk to cut some of the sugar and it tasted great! Just wondering what size jar to use when giving this as a gift? The recipe never specified.

I mixed all my leftover chips (chocolate & white. I chopped halloween candy in my food processor. I mixed all my leftover nuts (walnut & pecans. I followed Paula's process and amounts. Made two pans to add these bars to my Christmas trays. I have made this type of bar before and like the ease of the the recipe. Great recipe to get creative.

I love Paula-shes one of my favorite foodtv hosts. But like Ina and others, there are always errors either on the show or in the recipes. Why don't they hire a proof reader to take care of this so there is continuity betweenthe show and the recipe on the website?
I taped this show and Paula very clearly states that she used ONE CUP of butter when what was in the bowl was no more then one stick-a HALF cup of butter. Then she goes on to say that you need to use TWO CUPS of semi sweet chocolate chips as she was pouring out only a CUP of chips from a ONE cup Pyrex measuring cup-and she was using a liquid measure cup at that instead of a dry.
So if you used a cup of butter with the crumbs your crust won't stick together. And if you used two cups of choc. chips you mite have a bit of an overly chocolate bar.
As a cook myself I understand how irritating and costly these mistakes can be. Its just no fun at all. I wish all of you who have had problems with errors like this would take the time to write them via their Contact Us information and perhaps Food Network would be motivated to hire someone to proof the recipes before they are posted.

I followed the directions exactly, but my crust isn't sticking together at all. I am going to have to eat it with a spoon--a problem, since I was going to bring it for Thanksgiving.
This is a VERY rich and sweet bar. I bet it would be great crumbled over ice cream.

I believe the directions for this recipe may be for a "Cookie Gift in a Jar". From reading it, it looks like it is describing how to put the ingredients into a decorative jar to give it as a gift. The directions are what you need to write on a tag or card to go along with the jar of ingredients so that the person receiving it will know how to make the cookies. Not sure if this is correct but it is what it sounds like to me. If you want to make then, I would just follow the baking directions and skip the whole putting it in a jar part. : Hope this helps. Good Luck!

I want to make these and keep re-reading but don't understand at all. What is the purpose of the decorative jar? Isn't the point that it is mixed together (like in a bowl? Why are graham cracker crumbs added to the jar and then removed and placed in cellophane (what is the purpose of the cellophane? Is the "jar of 5 layer bar mix" listed in the ingredients the same decorative jar that is created with the layering? Is a jar even needed or just a mixing bowl? I'd be so grateful if someone could explain this to me with out the jar and without the bag of graham crackers - or at least clarify those elements.
THANK so much! Sorry I'm so clueless here. Maybe something is wrong with my comprehension skills today.
