I have always made the original "Magic Bars" recipe, but saw Paula's twist and decided to give it a try. The butterscotch chips really add a nice dimension to the recipe. They are still quite good even after three days in an airtight container on the counter. In other words, they keep well.

My only advice would be to check them after 25 minutes - I did 30 minutes as the recipe suggests and the outer edges were just a bit too done. They are still delicious however.

Paula hits another home run. The "Lady" is amazing!

These were so good and easy. I wanted to make a quick desert for lunches and saw these and thought I would try them. They were so incredibly easy and delicious. I took some to other family members, just because it made so much and we don't eat a lot of sweets. Not one person didn't like them. This is a go to recipe over an over.

I am so happy to find this recipe- I used to eat bars exactly like this when I was in high school but couldn't find the recipe! I prepared them for a family party and they were a hit! Will definitely make again!

I have been searching for these. I used to have them in college! Amazing!!! I used parchment paper under the bars which made them easier to remove from the pan.

These bars were very easy to make, but (and although I LOVE rich food, were over-the-top in sweetness. I would cut back on the butterscotch chips next time--they give it too much of an artificial sweetness.

I made this last night and brought it to work with me today. Everyone was raving about how good they were. The container was empty in no time. Super easy to make as well.

I have made this recipe twice and both times I have had people just gush over them. It is super easy and a great crowd pleaser. I think in the future I will try using parchment paper underneath when I bake them for easier removal and cutting.
