    This was an INCREDIBLE dish.

I've reviewed 300+ recipes on the foodnetwork website, and this one deserves a place among its best.

Made it for Christmas and got RAVE reviews. There were NO leftovers. One of the guests liked it so much, he grabbed the bone and started gnawing at the meat on the bone.

I actually freaked out the morning of Christmas because I thought I messed up the recipe. I left it in the oven for two hours instead of one. I quickly pulled the roast out of the oven, and cut into it ot find it perfectly medium rare in the center. So basically, instead of cooking for one hour, then leaving it in the oven for three hours, then cooking it again for an hour, I just cooked it for two hours and then took out and let it rest. It came out perfect that way.

Huge compliments on it all through the night. And the seasoning was so easy and tasty and formed a great crust on the roast.

This is the easiest recipe and best prime rib I have ever had. Thank you so much, I feel like a star after using this recipe. Everyone loved it and gave me credit....

I cooked a 12 lb prime rib for our son and his family for his birthday. The roast turned out perfect and was very tender. I would do this again as everyone raved about how great it was. I served it with au juice, baked stuffed potatoes, ice cold boiled shrimp, deviled eggs, tossed salad and chocolate chip cookies.

This was my very first Standing Rib Roast. I did what one of the reviewers suggested and tested the temperature in my oven to make sure it was accurate. IT TURNED OUT FABULOUS. I have only one oven so it would be difficult if I had to cook the entire meal. But I can tell you that I also served a ham and 15 people ate the entire roast and the ham is left...Thanks I will do this again in a heartbeat..

I used this recipe for my 8 pound roast and the timing for the 5 pound roast worked just as well. Nice to know that the timing would work for the difference in the size of the roast. It came out perfect for my New Years Eve guests.

This was amazingly easy to prepare and even better than expected. If you are new to cooking and want to impress your family, friends, or just about anyone this should be on your next shopping list. Just make sure you account for the time between the initial cooking time and reheat time.

Followed the recipe to the "T", size, time, temp and it turned out incredibly juicy and colors of mostly pink or dark pink. Only the outer edges were done medium but those sections were still some of the tastiest and yet still moist.

I have made this recipe for the past two Christmases and it turned out the best ever. The fist one was an 8lb and I was worried about the cooking time but it came out great. This year we did a 14LB and used the same cooking times and it again was the best ever. Moist, Med Rare from end to end and needed to seasoning. Everyone liked it so much we are doing another one today.
Those of you that said yours was overdone might want to check the actual Temp in you oven as some can be off as much as 75 degrees. .

I ruined a $30 roast on this recipe... The roast came out well done and dry. I felt like the cooking time was too long, but followed the directions exactly. The seasoning was good but the cooking time was way too long.
