Last Christmas, I decided to make a rib roast for the first time. I found this recipe and it was not only easy, it was absolutely delicious!
This year, I am having a larger group for dinner. There will be 8-10 of us eating. Does anyone have any suggestions on how big of a roast I should get and how long to cook it?
For Food Netword people---a table with weights and cooking times would be very helpful. It seems like many of us on this board would like to cook a bigger roast.
Lat year, I didn't want my kids to eat the medium rare roast, so I cut a piece of the roast and pan fried it for a minute or two to make it medium.

This recipe was so easy to follow. I served it for my dad's birthday on Sunday and my family is still calling to say how delicious it was. They want to know when the next dinner party is and will I have "to go" bags!! The meat was just perfect- moist and flavorful.

I made Paula's Standing Rib Roast recipe last Christmas for my family. It was so juicy and flavorful. The House seasoning added so much to the flavor. My husband was very impressed with our meal and it made for a memorable holiday meal memory!

I am a huge fan of this recipe. I absolutely love prime rib, and was extremely impressed with how easy this was. My 14 year old step son just kept eating it! I would highly recommend it, but don't plan to use your oven for a while.

Hi Paula,
Last year I made this rib roast for Christmas dinner. Very simple, actually the easiest roast I've ever made. This prime rib roast was just excellent. My husband loves prime rib rare and so does the rest of my family excluding my daughter and myself. My son in law committed that we need to have this again very soon and he wasn't even finished with his dinner!!! This year I will be making the rib roast for Christmas again. I have purchased from the bucher two roasts. One a 6 1/2 and one 3 pounder rib roasts. I will not be using the house seasoning this year but am going to add Tylor Florence's receipe for his coating of prime rib of Horseradish instead (always nice to another good looking fella at the table. The smaller roast will be a well done one for myself and my daughter. Thank you for this receipe and Happy Holidays to you and yours.
