Paula's foolproof standing rib roast was easy to prepare and was exactly as she explained - medium and flavorful. Ours was a pound larger - but same timing worked. Don't be too liberal with the salt if you intend to make yorkshire pudding from the au jus.

Last Christmas, I decided to make a rib roast for the first time. I found this recipe and it was not only easy, it was absolutely delicious!
This year, I am having a larger group for dinner. There will be 8-10 of us eating. Does anyone have any suggestions on how big of a roast I should get and how long to cook it?
For Food Netword people---a table with weights and cooking times would be very helpful. It seems like many of us on this board would like to cook a bigger roast.
Lat year, I didn't want my kids to eat the medium rare roast, so I cut a piece of the roast and pan fried it for a minute or two to make it medium.

How do you adjust the recipe for a medium rather than med. rare roast?

This recipe was so easy to follow. I served it for my dad's birthday on Sunday and my family is still calling to say how delicious it was. They want to know when the next dinner party is and will I have "to go" bags!! The meat was just perfect- moist and flavorful.

I made Paula's Standing Rib Roast recipe last Christmas for my family. It was so juicy and flavorful. The House seasoning added so much to the flavor. My husband was very impressed with our meal and it made for a memorable holiday meal memory!
