This is the best beef recipe I have EVER had. I made this last year for christmas and it was just as easy as Paula said it was. It might even have been easier. I come from a family of beef eaters and we do not like well done beef, or beef that has been cooked poorly. We have also been to many a steakhouse places and this fool proof standing rib roast is the best we have ever had. We don't ever need to go out for good beef again. It tastes like you spent all day on it and you don't. So thank you thank you Paula Dean for giving my family the best recipe for beef ever!

I made this rib roast, the brandied mushrooms, and the shrimp-stuffed potatoes last Christmas, the first year my husband and I were married. What an impression with his family! Everyone raved on how delicious it was - and little did they know how easy it all was to prepare!

Even my six year old ate this, thank you Paula, the only thing I was worried about was opeing the oven door during the last 40 minutes of cooking to cook other items so I didn't did anyone else?

This is by far the best Prime Rib recipe I have ever tried. No need to look and further! The shrimp stuffed potatoes make this a meal fit for a KING!

This was the first roast I ever made and it came out excellent! You can NOT mess up! Very very tender. The meat was falling off the bone. I didn't have any leftover! When I took it out of the oven my husband said, "that looks like something that came out of a 5 star restaurant!"

I always need 6 ribs in this roast so I ask the butcher to crack the bone and tie it for me. Once it's done cooking and I cut the ties, the bone falls off and it is so easy to handle at that point. I make this every year and if I didn't my family would be upset becuase they and I just "LOVE IT!!!"
