I have never made this kind of soup before, and was very excited to try it. It was wonderful! Ive never tried Guyere cheese before, and it has a very pungent flavor. Not too crazy about it alone, but melted on the toast and combined with the soup, its pretty good. I would definitely serve this soup in small portions. Like half of a regular bowl. Its a very intense sweet flavor, and it would be great as addition to a main course.

I love french onion soup and this was the first time i ever made it. It came out fantastic. My husband was even impressed. It was nice because it didn't have any off the wall ingredients that i don't normally have. I would definitely make it again and again.

I made it for a dinner. Everyone loved it. This recopied is fantastic. The only thing I have changed I added more vine into it about 1/2 cup total or maybe a little more. It all depends on how you like it. I like mine to be a little bit more sour than sweet. It wasn't hard to find the cheese. For those who live in California check Albertson's store.

This is an excellent recipe for french onion soup. It came out very good; bet than very good........absolutely delightful! Everyone enjoyed it. The gruyere wasn't the easiest to find nor very affordable; $10.75 for about 10oz, but it was worth the find and the price. I would buy it again for sure.
