The apple pies are delicious, I wish they looked more presentable though but hey...tasty is better than pretty in my book. I love most of Paula's recipes.

I looked at this recipe for a another way of making the dough. Surprised that Paula used biscuit dough also. For the person that wanted the dough sweet without using powdered sugar...put sugar in the flour you use to roll dough. Recipe also works great with sweet potato filling.

These were really good but the lemon needed to be a little less and a little more sugar needed to be added. This recipe was a favorite though. They were gone in like 5 minutes. I only got to eat half and im impressed. I would also add a little powder sugar on top so the outside taste sweet too.

I made these for a southern culture class, they were great! I choose a paula deen recipe because who knows more about southern cooking than paula ofcourse and as always her recipe came out amazing. They were a huge hit with my class. The recipe is easy to double and quick to fry. Beware the prep is very time consuming but I made them a couple days in advanced, froze them, then let them thaw, and then fried them. They cooked in less than minute so be cautious of that, some of mine came out a little crispy but it was still amazing. Instead of powdered sugar I sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar and I also used granny smith apples because i couldn't find mcintosh apples, its was out of this world good! This recipe is def. worth trying, trust me your gonna like it!

These were great. They almost came out like those Dunkin Doughnuts with apple filling inside them. Be sure not to leave them in the hot oil for too long. I ended up burning the first batch. It takes literally seconds for these puppies to brown and turn ready. Crispy and fluffy, these make for a great breakfast as well as a dessert.

Really Sweet. I had to split just one pie because too much sweetness makes one sick. I served this with Mango ice cream on top without the powdered sugar. I used Pillsbury flaky butter biscuits and I froze the left overs. They are just as good the next day heated. I had to use 315 F for my deep fryer otherwise the pastries were not done in the middle and I had to cook them for 10 minutes each.. 10*8 = 80 minutes.
