So good! This was amazing comfort food : And it was very inexpensive. I already had frozen peas : So I just bought brown eggs, a white onion and mayonnaise. These ingredients totaled $9.92, and I can add frozen peas at around 1.50(most likely less. At 4 servings, that's 2.86/serving, without accounting for all of the leftover eggs, mayonnaise & onion. :

I have been looking for a recipe like this. Reminds me of my childhood when my great grandmother made variations of this. I have been craving it for quite awhile now, thank you Paula for helping me bring back those wonderful memories!

During the summer months I take this salad to picnics. However, I use frozen peas because it keeps the salad colder, longer. If using frozen peas, and to advoid clumping, make this the last ingredient you add. Never thought of adding pimento, but will next time.

Definitely use frozen peas, added all the recommended items in other comments (bacon, dill plus added chopped water chestnuts that help give good crunch.

Really quick and easy to make. It gives a nice kick to regular old garden peas as a side. My family and I love it!

Tasty, Yes indeedy! I needed a good dish to take to work and I knew you, Paula, would help me out. I had a can of peas and some eggs and an onion so I decided to make this. It was very tasty indeed. However, it was a little small for my work group so I added some celery for crunch (and volume! I also added some chopped bread n' butter pickles just because I'm addicted to them and a little more mayo. Well, it was still very good. I padded it a little more with lettuce leaves all around the bowl (never hurts to show a little class, does it! Everybody at work loved it and wanted the recipe. Thanks again, Paula, you always come through!

I made this Garden Pea Salad for a church dinner and it was a hit. Everyone loved it and wanted the recipe. I followed the recipe except I used 1 thawed bag of petite peas instead of canned. I used 2 green onions sliced instead of the 1/4 c onion and I added bacon bits, dill weed, and 1/2 small jar diced pimento. I didn't measure the mayo; just added till I got the desired consistancy. Another add-in would be small cubed cheese. This recipe is a "keeper" and I highly recommend it.

Very simple and easy. Try with a little bacon salt!
