Add a 1/4 cup of butter, chopped into small cold chunks. Use a fork or pastry cutter to mince the butter into the biscuit mix. Then add the cheddar, dash of garlic powder and the milk to the batter. Even more like red lobsters - moister inside. For those of you asking for the biscuit mix recipe... I just assumed she meant store bought biscuit mix. I used Bisquick. If you want to make your own biscuit mix, see Alton Brown's recipe and add the cheddar and garlic to that one.

Just watched her make these on TV and she used milk instead of water. I will try the recipe, but think I will use milk for a better texture. They do sound good.

They taste like the RED LOBSTER biscuits which I love. Easy & delicious! Just wish the texture was a little softer.

These came out great. I use Old Mill of Gilford Stove Ground Southern Style Biscuit Mix, I know a mouthful. I love there products, the grits are amazing. Anyway, being a garlic freak, I added 1/4 tsp to the dough and in the butter, delicious. I love the previous idea about using bacon, that sounds really good.

Really liked these biscuits. I cheated and used the bisquick mix and added garlic & cheese but they turned out awesome. I also leave out the garlic & add bacon which taste awesome as well.

They're OK, but nothing to write home about. After reading the reviews I was expecting something that closely resembled the biscuits from that famous seafood restaurant. Unfortunately, that did not happen. The garlic definitely needs to be upped, the texture was so-so. Since no biscuit mix recipe is mentioned, I looked at some of the other biscuit recipes Paula has on this site, and I used the Bisquick, as she recommends. Maybe with some modifications this can be what's it's all cracked up to be. I'll try again.

I used buttermilk instead of water, and I've used both shredded "Mexican" (cheddar and monterey jack and mozzarella cheese...both were excellent. But when I added cayenne pepper, they really popped! I added a little red pepper to the garlic butter, too...my family LOVES these biscuits!!
