These were wonderful. They stayed so soft. I made them 12 days ago and they are still soft and wonderful! The flavor is perfect.

As suggested by other reviews, I left out some flour from the dough and everything turned out great. I think I may have put the flour back in when I was rolling the dough out. So I guess I broke out even. They were adorable and great for Christmas! Thanks Paula!

I made these cookies for Christmas for my family and I. I crave gingerbread cookies all the time, and these were the perfect dose. They were not too strong, either. Even my little brother, who is not a dessert person, loved these cookies.

These turned out beautifully! I made the dough the day before, and it did appear incredibly dry. But it came together without any trouble. Everyone raved about them!

These were good and easy cookies. I did omit 1 cup of flour.

The cookies could have used a little less flour. We had to add sprinkles of cold water to the dough to roll it out, but that worked perfectly. The icing however did not taste very good at all. No flavor, just sugar- ick! We were also making these as gifts and the icing will not harded enough to put them in gift tins. It is very disapointing. THe cookies are great, taste good and everything, but use another icing if you want to do something with them aside from eat them at home. :

I've been trying out several recipes for gingerbread cookies, and my family agrees that this is the one we'll keep making over and over again.
They are delicious, the right texture and easy to make.

I had never made gingerbread cookies from scratch before (always used a box and was very successful with this recipe. The dough was easy to make, roll, and bake. I even rolled some a little thinner and cut them into circles, covered them with white sugar sprinkles and had ginger snaps. This is a great recipe!

I SPENT SO MUCH TIME DOING THESE STUPID COOKIES AND THEY SUCKED. THERE IS DEFINATELY NOT ENOUGH BUTTER. AND I THOUGH THAT WAS WHAT YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO BE GOOD AT?? VERY MAD, ALMOST THREW UP AT HOW HORRIBLE THEY WERE. MORE LIKE PAULA SPLEEN.
