I have been baking cookies for 32 years and this was the WORST recipe I've ever used. The dough was super dry and fell apart before it even made it to the fridge to chill. I had to roll 1 small piece out at a time and cut 1 boy out at a time. Actually it barely rolled at all, you had to press it down. As far as the taste--TERRIBLE. Super BITTER. I would recommend another gingerbread recipe before I'd use this one. Sorry Paula! Every other cookie recipe I made of yours was great, but not this one. I hated to even rate it as a 1, it deserves 0.

This is a great recipe. I rolled out between two pieces of wax paper and it worked great. Remember to let the dough sit for a few minutes to warm, this is key to the dough not falling apart. I think some of you used too much flour as well. These roll out fantastic and taste great!

I just made this with my four little boys and it was a blast. The recipe turned out great, even with so many little chefs in the kitchen.

We didn't bother to refrigerate the dough, but it still didn't give us too much trouble.

Not too great, but don't take my word for it, I wasn't sure I did it correctly .
