I made it with shrimp and doubled the marinade amount and I also added some garlic powder, onion powder and cumin to the peppers and onions (just a little of each. I didn't have the lemon and didn't feel like going to the store so made it without and it still came out great. I cant wait for next time to make it with the lemon..or maybe I'll do lime :

Try going from very good to great!
Use peanut oil instead of veggie oil.
Use lime juice instead of lemon in the marinade and add 1 oz lemonaide.
Add chopped Cilantro to the marinade.
Use Kikoman soy sauce instead of salt in the marinade.
Add 1/2 t chopped Italian seasonings to the marinade
Use plenty of fresh ground or cracked black pepper!
I used chuck steaks (at about $2.25 a pound
WOW!!!

I bought some flap meat because it was on sale and my husband suggested fajitas. I found this recipe and the only changes I made were that I used garlic infused olive oil instead of veg oil (didnt have veg oil...and added juice from a lime and half of orange as well as the lemon juice...it was SOOO delicious! I marinated the peppers and onions in a different bag and they were amazing too...I don't recall if I used this exact seasoning for the veggies...but I will tonight. This was such a crowd pleaser I had one of our guests call from back home in Hawaii asking for every detail- he had to make them for his family...easy and SOOO good!

I didn't have lemon juice and it was still great. Also, I cut my chicken in thin strips before marinating b/c I only had about an hour or so and many reviews said they would marinade for longer then the recipe stated. I think that allowed the seasoning to penetrate much better. Definitely will be making again!

I made chicken fajitas last night and my boyfriend said it was delicious! The only ingredient I changed was the garlic. I added fresh vs. garlic salt. Very quick & easy make. I will definitely make it again!

No flavor. I followed the recipe exactly as written and used beef. Even after marinating for 5 hours, it had no flavor. I couldn't even taste the seasonings - a little cumin, maybe. Perhaps this recipe would work better with chicken, but definitely not with beef.

The marinade was delicious... it had a really nice tanginess to it. However, the second time I made it I used steak instead of chicken and I thought the marinade was more complementary to the meat than is was to the chicken. Also, instead of using onion and garlic powder I substituted the recipe with grated pearl onions and a grated garlic clover. I think It added some freshest to the marinade.

These were excellent. I loved them with chicken! I will let my chicken marinate longer next time (maybe 2-3 hours. I only marinated it about 30 minutes...it was great, but I want more of the marinade taste. This is quick and easy!
