Just what my family was looking for! Tastes just as moist and flavorful as if you'd stuffed it in the turkey without the "ick" factor. (That's according to my kids - I happen to like stuffing in the bird!!! I used 2 loaved of Pepperidge Farm bread - one white, one sourdough - and had to chuckle at the amount of cubes it made. Everything else seemed disproportionately small until I added the chicken stock. I didn't change a thing and the stuffing came out perfect. I myself don't really see the purpose of the rice but it didn't bother me any. For personal preference I may use a touch more sage next time, or experiment with sage sausage instead of breakfast sausage. This does make a large amount of stuffing! I had to go a size up from 9x13 and was thankful I had such a large pan at my disposal. Thanks, Paula!

Yummy!! The only thing I might change next time is add a little more poultry seasoning, but other than that I wouldn't change a thing!! My kids even liked it!!

I love this recipe - BUT - you need to watch the stock it calls for. The one time I followed it by-the-book using 7 cups of stock - it was a mushy mess (tasty but mushy that I ended up having to bake over and over again, to get some of the moisture out. The next time I made it I added about 4 cups stock...and then would stir and add more until I got the desired consistency (for me it's more like 5.5-6 cups. So - totally recommend - but add the stock slowly so you can STOP before it turns into mush!

I always use this recipe minus the rice and add some dried cubed cornbread instead, comes out delicious!!! Use jimmy dean sage sausage also for some extra yummy sage flavor, it wont overpower with the dried either.

Awesome recipe! Takes little time to prepare and is a Thanksgiving hit at our house every year. Top comes out with a nice crust and it's very moist. Who knew rice in stuffing would be a great thing. This is a MUST TRY!

If you are looking for a great stuffing recipe, look no further!! This is the best stuffing ever! It's has just the right amount of moisture and the flavor can't be beat! I've made this for the past few Thanksgiving dinners. It's now a staple and all family members expect it. I've actually changed the white rice to brown rice and white bread to whole wheat bread. The flavor is just as good and you can't even tell the difference. This year I will try the whole wheat saltine crackers, since those are new on the market. Happy Thanksgiving, Ya'll!! Enjoy!!

I have never written a review. However, this recipe deserved one! Another thing I had never done was eat stuffing or have any interest for that matter. I broke down and decided to make stuffing for my husband to stop his sulking of the yearly Thanksgiving without stuffing. This recipe made me fall in love with stuffing. I will never go another Thanksgiving without it. I followed the recipe for the stuffing exactly and did not make the gravy. At this time, I have no interest in eating mushrooms. ~Sincerely, Still Acquiring Tastes for New Things~

Loved the stuffing. Family loved it. It's really, really moist.

We got a free frozen turkey from our supermarket after spending a certain amount on groceries for the Easter holiday, so we put together a mini Thanksgiving in the spring with cranberry sauce, sweet potatoe casserole and everything!

This is everything you'd come to expect in a Thanksgiving stuffing. My mother wasn't too keen on the sausage in there but I liked it a lot.

I'd say it's definitely far above average. Five stars.

I hated it...The rice ruined it. Had horrible comments after Thanksgiving. If the rice would have not been in it, would have been much better.
