I have people begging me to make this recipe. We've made it for the past 4 years or so. All of my family and friends hate fruitcake....so at Christmas I made it with pecans, macadamia nuts and walnuts, dredged in flour and thrown in. It was delicious. But make it like the recipe says for the best damn cake you have ever eaten. One family member when invites are issued over the phone says "is that cake going to be on the menu?" It's just the best.

The best apple cake I've ever had. It was so easy to make, and everyone who has tried it has asked me for the recipe. Paula Deen comes through as always!

This one reminds me of my days growing up in the South, except much better! I've made this one 3x now & each time my family & I are amazed at how totally awsome it is! I'm not sure if it's my oven, but at the suggested temp, my cake is usually done in about an hour. I also use a bundt pan, so that could very well be the reason for the shorter cooking time. I follow the other suggestions for cutting down on the sweetness: only 1 1/2 cups of sugar in the batter and 1/2 cup of sugar in the sauce & turns out wonderfully! Thanks Paula!

Very easy and very good. I made it exactly as written except I used unsweetened flaked coconut instead of sweetened because that's what I had in the house. Perfect for fall, really a comfort food.

One of the best tasting cakes I have ever made. My husband loves it and my sister-in-law requests it. Made it for her birthday present. Everyone raves about it.

This is one of the best cakes that I have made. I did not put the icing on because I wanted it more of a coffee cake. It truly was a hit and we had it at my brunch with some great coffee. everyone asked for the recipe. this cake will become one of my favorites to make.

It was great! I only added 1/2 of the topping, but the cake still was super moist. My family went back for seconds and then wanted cake to take home for later. It is definitely a keeper.
