I just don't see how I could have made this cake any better. It's the best cake I've ever made. My tube pan was a little too small, so I put the rest of the batter in 3 small loaf pans to share with family. They want more! I omitted the coconut, because my husband doesn't like it. It was so easy to make, and mine was done after an hour. I'll definately make it again real soon!!

The cake itself was a bit bland.Next time I will use a tsp.of salt.I used a bundt pan sprayed with cooking spray instead of using butter. That worked well. The bundt pan was a bit to small for this recipe. But it worked.I poked holes in the cake with a skewer and put the cake on a wire rack on a cookie sheet so the sauce that ran off could be poured back on top.A good cake worth the effort.

Yes, I thought the cake was good, however, I thought at first, I had not cooked it long enough. Apparently that was wrong as so many commented on moisture. Why Robert expected to taste orange is a mystery since there was very little in cake. John was so right about the pan. Did anyone mention size? I guess after seeing the show we should have thought about larger pan, but my icing ran everywhere. Iwas prepared for that at least. I think this is a cake that improves with age.

Saw the receipe on TV and could hardly wait to get to the store to get my apples. I substitued applesauce for the oil and used 1/2 applesauce and 1/2 sugar for the topping. It was out of this world!! Am going to try another variation by throwing in some rasins. It was certainly sweet enough and as far as eating, you can't stop with just one piece!! Thanks Paula, Love your show!

I made the cake using splenda instead of sugar and had major trouble incorporating the oil into the "batter." The batter turned into dough which I had to knead the apples, coconut and pecans into. Very strange. I then baked it in a tube pan. It came out looking very much like turkey stuffing, still it was a tasty dessert. I then re-made the cake using sugar. The batter was very dense and heavy. I baked it in a bundt pan, the cake stuck to the pan when I tried to flip it out after cooling for the hour. I will definitely try this recipe again and simply bake it in a 9x13 or bigger pan and just serve squares of it. I happen to love heavy, dense cakes and breads so this one is right up my alley. I hope it works out for me eventually!

I will definately put this recipe in my favorites. The only thing I would change is that I would grate up the apples. My kids were turned off by the chunks but it has great texture and taste and was very easy! Thanks for another great recipe!

Really got excited about this cake....and was a bit disappointed. Found it to be a tad bit too moist...kind of gooey. It was also too sweet for our family. If I were to make it again, I'd definitely reduce the amount of sugar in the topping...as well as decrease the amount to be poured over the cake.
