    My mother has made my Grandma's fried chicken for 20 something years. Now she only makes Paula's Grandmother Paul's. It's crispy, the skin stays on and the flavor's is just right.

    I followed the recipe to the "t" and even added some add'l seasonings as advised here. I did not like the crust like appearance nor taste. I think my fried chicken taste better, and my family is from the South (SC.

    This recipe is fool-proof. The fried hicken was moist, tender and mouth-watering. I added onion powder and cayenne to the flour. I will make this chicken often - it's a real crowd pleaser.

    My husband learned to make fried chicken from his mother, he had forgotten that she used Crisco to fry with. When I pulled up your recipe and saw that you used it, he said, "that's why it tasted so darn good", and it does.
