This recipe tasted nothing like red velvet should taste. Very disappointing.

The cake was delicious - I followed directions. Think its really important to sift the cake flour and yes, use cake flour as directed. I skipped the marshmallows and the pecans because I wanted to make a classic red velvet cake - it is a great recipe!

ok so i made the cake followed the directions to the T and the cake came out way to dense. So after going over and over the recipe there was one thing that I looked over that may have been the reason and i am correct please fellow bakers let me know if i am correct. the reason why my cake came out dense was because i used all purpose flour instead of cake flour

The cake takes good, but the frosting is too too sweet. The marshmallows take away from the cream cheese taste of the frosting. My husband thinks this recipe is great for cup cakes.

I found this online years ago and I fell in love. I have changed it many times and now its my own and I just love the fact that it was my initial starting recipe.

Its very light and fluffy (almost like cotton candy but thicker, not a strong cocoa and dye taste, and moist. Made my first one yesterday for a birthday present. Making another today for everyone with nuts this time. This recipe is so easy just like her pound cake recipe. I have been baking for a few years now, and all have derived from Paula's recipes.

I absolutely love this recipe! I never Really liked Red Velvet Cake before trying this cake, 1st off to avoid the cake being dense I added a splash of vegetable oil into the cake. It was very very veryMOIST. I also doubled the cocoa and vanilla. Ive made the cake plenty of times and ppl love it each time. True crowd pleaser.

The flavor of the cake was good. Unfortunately, the texture of the cake was too dense and extremely dry. I'm not sure what happened. I followed the recipe to a tee. Substituted the cream cheese frosting with buttercream as that is what my husband prefers.
