    I am no baker. I mean that. A friend asked me to bring dessert to a party and I had to look for a quick, simple recepie that I could make with two small children at my feet. The result was an incredible, sweet, smooth cake that everyone loved. My friends asked if it was a secret old family recepie. I said yes, but not my familly. I gave them all your site so they could share the wealth!

    This is a great way to impress your guest if it's a small group. the cake can be baking while you are visiting and gettign ready for dessert. it's the after thought and just needs ice-cream. it does not do too well alone... well maybe it's ok.

    This was excellent with berries on top of a slice. Everyone loved it, but it just made too much batter. Half a recipe will fill one loaf pan perfectly.

    I followed the recipe to the limit and it was perfect and delicious. After we finished the first cake, my 16 year old asked for more, so I made another one within 2 hours of eating the first one since I had more ingredients. Thanks to grandmother's and mom's for fabulous recipes.

    This really is a WONDERFUL recipe for pound cake...serve plain with whipped cream on top....absolutely delightful.
