Thanks Paula Deen! This was the first time my boyfriend or I had ever tried making a dish mixing bacon with green beans. The result was elegent and delicious - not the healthiest veggie side but with a less fatty main dish it creates a good balance in my opinion. The recipe itself was very simple to make. I will definitely make these again!

Everyone I've made this for steals the recipe. It's that good. I like it better with the thick cut bacon personally - or the kind with the pepper on it. Of course, it's not healthy, so I only make them once in a blue moon. Make sure you blanch the beans and then cook them on the slotted baking tray like the recipe says and not a flat tray. You need the fat to drain to crisp the bacon. I cook it longer than it says too and broil for a few minutes at the end to crisp it even more. I think sea salt and fresh ground pepper and good olive oil make a difference too.

Loved these. But. Boiled for 5 minutes. Oven temp 400. Cooked 20 minutes.
Put under broiler for a couple of minutes to finish off. Bacon was good ....but since I try to cut on a very fatty dish. I put the bacon to the side. Beans are the greatest. The few minutes under the broiler make them seem as if from the grill and have that slightly char flavor. Put the unused bacon in baggie and lay over turkey and ham when baking to keep them from drying out.

Enjoy this lovely and different recipe. Hope the changes help the lady with the bacon problem... You could microwave the bacon a little to get it started so that it will become crispier while in the oven. Nloticed changes were similar to another lady......probably another southern cook. Love that pork.

This recipe is not only easy, it's delicious. My kids, who aren't big veggie eaters now ask for this as a part of our Thanksgiving meal. Thanks for the big hit!

These were horrible completely inedible. What was Paula thinking?

Took other reviewers advice and cooked the beans longer, total of 30 minutes in the oven, and they were still not done. I know it was not the beans as I had cooked some the night before for myself the old fashioned boiled way and they were delicious. Will never make this again.

I have made the green bean bundles for my family on different get togethers. They love them!! I even have family members that don't eat green beans, but they eat and love these.

With all the chaos of the holiday season I was looking for something simple. While watching a Paula Dean episode she made a crown pork roast with these green bean bundles and I thought these would be a huge time saver. As indicated by other reviewers' it took a bit longer than the 10 to 15 minutes indicated, so I baked them for about 25 to 30 minutes and then put them under the broiler to crisp the bacon more. These were both tasty and beautiful.

WOW, How easy was this! Not only did I mix things up a bit on the holiday table but my family almost did not want to eat their pretty little packages. We almost alwayse have green beans with bacon and sometimes almonds at our holiday table. But this year they came on a beautiful holiday plate and everyone LOVED them. Thank you Paula. I also used the left over dinner rolls from yesterday to make your bread pudding with the brandy sauce for breakfast this morning and now I am a hero! My grandmother even asked ME for the recipe!

Thank you Thnak you Thank you Paula for your Love and best dishes...lol
