Terrific! I altered it a bit by adding a bit of soy sauce to the chicken broth and adding cheddar cheese onion rings, but everyone said this is the best green bean casserole they ever ate. Thank you, Paula Deen, as I think it is the marinating of the green beans in the chicken broth and the cooking of the onions and mushrooms in butter which add the exotic taste to this fabulous recipe.

Made this for Thanksgiving. It was a hit with young and old alike. My teenage nephews raved about it. Made a double batch for 15 and there were some leftovers. My sister-in-laws mother cleaned out my pan and put the leftovers in the frig announcing she would be eating it the next day. LOL! No leftovers for my family. My Mom requested I make this again for Christmas.

A little greasy for my family's taste. Better than the canned bean versions.

This was the BEST green bean casserole ever....everyone loved it and went back for seconds. The only change I would make next time is to omit the cheese. It is great without it.

I subbed the chicken broth with Vegetable Broth and did not add the cheese to the top. It came out super yummy! I cooked the fresh beans a little longer so they'd be tender enough for my 15 month old to chew. It was a big hit with him as well as the rest of the family.

This was a hit at thanksgiving dinner! Maybe its just me, but I think I would prefer canned green beans to fresh. Or maybe just cook the fresh green beans longer so they aren't as crunchy. I really like the traditional green bean casserole texture, so I think combine the flavor of this recipe with the texture of the old and its a winner.

Very good...made it exactly as recipe called for...the only bad comment I got was that they didn't like the cheese on top and we all love cheese. So next time I will leave the cheese off, and top with more of the onions.

Very yummy. It was one of the few dishes that was completely polished off on thanksgiving day. There's not actually that much butter, and we used a "healthy" canned soup, so it wasn't totally calorie / sodium laden.

I love this recipe. It is very easy to switch it up and make it your own.
