Another fine recipe from FN! Since there are only the two of us we cut recipe in half. It was great! And the "Queen-of-the-Kitchen made corn bread to go with it. I'm so full I may burst!

    Thanks, Jim in Idaho

I did change things up a bit, didn't put in the salt pork. But thought it was wonderful. Already fixed it twice, we loved it...

I didn't have the quantity of green beans or potatoes on hand, so I adjusted ("eyeballed"the amounts of each of the other ingredients accordingly. The only thing I added was a few pieces of smoked tasso to the browning bacon, and 2 cups more of the chicken broth (I love to dip cornbread in the "juice". This was delicious, probably due to the broth, as I had always used plain water. Great dish!

I made a vegan version of this, eliminating the pork fat, and butter. Just potatoes, green beans, onions, then drizzled olive oil and added fresh chives and rosemary. VERY delicious.

This dish was tasty, but then how can you ever go wrong with a mixture of green beans, potatoes, and pork fat? Sauteing the beans and potatoes did add flavor, but the same taste can be achieved with less fat by adding some ham cubes to the chicken broth and vegetable mixture and simmering. I also like to add onions. Three stars not for taste, but for higher fat.

This reminds me of the boiled dinner that my mom used to make. Instead of the bacon she used pork shoulder.

I really love what the bacon adds to this recipe.

This was the very best recipe for green beans and potatoes I have ever eaten. It had a lot of steps to prepare but well worth the effort. Plan to use this recipe for a lot of family gatherings. Thanks Paula!

Every year our family would serve green bean casserole. I do believe the Green beans with New Potatoes will be replacing it.

I seen Paula making this on t.v. and it reminded of when I was younger and my mother used to make it. It turned out soooo good. This will become a regular on my Sunday table. Thanks Paula!!

I made these for Thanksgiving to get away from the standard green bean casserole. They were so good I made them again for our pre-Christmas dinner! Everyone loved them! I left the potatoes out though because we already had the mashed potatoes. This recipe is a keeper!
