This recipe is so easy and so much better than the canned stuff!

Sorry to say but this wasn't good at all. I grew up with my mom cooking peas with bacon in a really great recipe, but my husband doesn't eat bacon so when I saw Paula cooking this on her show, I thought I would give it a shot. I found there was nothing tasty, flavorful or 'yum' about this dish. Very bland, very boring.

I didn't see baby portobello at my local trader joes, so I went with crimini mushrooms. I did add a little fresh garlic but nothing turned out as I had hoped.

Easy to make and fast to cook. Tastes so YUM!! I made this as a side dish and I also mixed it with elbow or baby shell pasta. Deliciously YUM!!!! I also made it with bacon instead of mushrooms as a side and left over - once again with shells or elbow pasta. YUM!!! :D
Cut bacon into squares cause it will shrink when cooking. Cook till almost crisp then add onion and saute. when the onion is almost translucent, add peas and water until tender. Well la! YUM!
