I have longed for my "Poppy's" sugar cream pie and when I tried the Grits Pie I thought
my Poppy was in the kitchen with me. It has brought wonderful yummy memories!
I have also made an addition to the receipt by adding 1/2 cup of toasted coconut and my
friend think I have spent hours making an old fashion coconut custard pie. shh don't tell.

Love it!! A lot of people have never tried or don't like grits but every time I make this pie no one realizes that there are grits in it, they take it as a custard pie and just gobble it down. Just wonderful in the morning with your coffee (hot nescafe. If there are leftovers warm it up in the oven not the microwave (as it makes it soggy and you don't want that. Whipped cream on it and you are good to go.

Amazing pie, beautiful texture and fabulous taste. I did have a little trouble getting it to set and ended up having to cook it close to an hour. Really good though!

This was not only the EASIEST dessert I've ever made, but it was absolutely fantastic! I ended up making another one the next night because my family DEVOURED the first one! Thank you, Ms. Paula, for finding ANOTHER tasty recipe where the star ingredient is grits.

I have made this recipe several times, have taken it to work and have people guess what it is and they always guess custard. I used splenda can't have all the sugar. Love it, had to stop making it for a while was eating too much.

This pie is incredible! The only thing I'd change about the recipe is putting a disclaimer on it to be sure to bake 2 pies--one is just not enough! If you like Custard Pie, you'll love this. The grits just add a texture that makes it wonderful. My family is already requesting I make another one (and I just made one yesterday!.

My husband loves grits and I am not a big fan of them at all. When I saw this I was very interested. It was so easy! My husband loved it! This pie is now on our family's list for holidays!
