I'm new to grits, so this was unlike anything I've tried before. We enjoyed the flavor and texture of the pie.

This was delicious and the texture of the grits was wonderful. As for cooking the grits, be sure to turn the burner down after you add the grits to the boiling water and you will be able to cook them the full 4 minutes. I found the butter sort of "overflowed" from the pie while it was baking but it was so yummy I wouldn't change a thing.

My husband loves grits and I do not. He tries to get me to eat them with him and I just can't aquire a taste for them. I saw this show and decided I'd try them this way. I love it and he simpy said this pie should be named "Out Of This World" pie.

I came across this recipe in a random search, it sounded easy and "different" so I gave it a try- It was pretty good- Very sweet, similar to a sugar pie or Chess pie- I followed the directions exact with one exception. I did not cook the grits for a full 4 minutes- It only took about 2 1/2 minutes- If I would have cook the full 4 minutes, they would have burnt and dried out.

My husband eats grits 5 days a week. This was a great way for me to surprise him with a new way to eat grits. He said it was "out of this world". He loved it.

I would never known it was made with grits. Sounds so easy to make. I can't wait.

Even though I'm a GRITs (Girl Raised In The South, I had never heard of a Grits Pie. Tried it and loved it. So did my neighbors. Would not know that grits were in this recipe.
