Rich, thick and spicy version of this southern dish. The added Worscetershire sauce gives this stew and unexpected richness and tang.
This is one of the best gumbo recipes ever. I will definitely make it over and over again!

Great recipe, but as usual, like to customize things a bit. I combined the best of two recipes: Paula's Gumbo and Emeril's Chicken and Smoked Sausage Gumbo. What a taste explosion! The addition of 1 tablespoon of file powder at the end really took this over the top. File powder is easily found in specialty markets and is made from the leaves of Sassafras trees. It has a mild but distinctive flavor, and aids in thickening. Zatarain's is a common brand. Paula, you and Food Network are the best!

very disappointing. Long preperation, lots of ingredients and no taste to speak of. I even let it sit over night and still little taste.

This was a very good recipe. I was rather impressed since Paula's recipes tend to be rather bland. I will definitely make this one again!

I fixed this for my in-laws from Savannah Ga. Both my in-laws and family loved it. This is a repeat!
