This recipe was my first i made off of this site and one of my all time favorite recipes!! The combination of fried chicken, honey, & pecans was delicious. The glaze is very sweet due to the honey used..it was great to me, but some people may find it a little overwhelming if they don't like a lot of sugar. This recipe was a tad bit hard when trying to make the glaze, but all in all it was a great recipe. I made this for my children one evening for dinner and again for my boyfriend and his friends and both time it got rave reviews. The only bad thing is there is usually not enough left to save for leftovers LOL Also the chicken did reheat pretty well. My advice for leftovers would be to pour the glaze only on the chicken you plan to eat after cooking and storing the rest seperately until ready to eat. You can also serve seperately in case some of your guests prefer to eat the chicken plain. This recipe definately deserves 5 stars...Paula you've out did yourself once again!!!

Add a little cayenne to the glaze, then you have sweet with a little heat behind it. My husband has been raving the last hour about it.

I was uncertain how this was going to turn out and I must say it was absolutely scrumptious!!! The combination between the fried chicken and glaze was truly amazing! This recipe will be added to the rotation. Thanks Paula:

I have to admit that I never made the glaze but this is my favorite chicken recipe!!!! As a Southerner, living in New York City, my friends and family who all know some good chicken now beg for this version...it reminds me of my mother's best Sunday fried chicken-the one she made when she had a lot of time...the soaking makes the difference....very simple but tastes like you have been slaving over a hot frying pan for hours!!

I've made and enjoyed this recipe many times (as well as going to the Pirate's House to taste the original recipe and I think you can take it a step higher and easier....get your favorite take out fried chicken or strips (Publix tenders, etc. and glaze them with the honey pecan Paula recipe bumped up with the aforementioned garlic and parmesan...plus a dash of hot sauce. Place your takeout chicken on a baking sheet, glaze and warm in your oven to reheat and set the glaze. Looks like Paula just collaborated with Sandra Lee and you will get all the compliments!

I didn't cook my chicken how Paula says to. I just double fried my chicken to make extra crispy chicken wings. I made the sauce with the pecans and it was so sweet! Almost like candy. BUT IT WAS GOOD!

I also did oliver_ec1's version with the garlic and parmesan cheese and omgoodness!!! I've made fried chicken with his version I don't know how many times, but it is SOOOOOO GOOD! so simple and so easy. BUTTER/HONEY/GARLIC/PARMESAN CHEESE you can NOT go wrong!
