Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, at room temperature
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure almond extract
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup finely chopped pecans
  • 1 (9-ounce) package chocolate candy kisses (recommended: Hershey's Kisses)
  • 1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar

Directions

In a large bowl, cream the butter, sugar, and vanilla and almond extracts. Stir in the flour and blend well. Add the pecans and blend well. Cover the bowl and refrigerate the dough for 1 hour.

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

Unwrap the candy kisses. Press a scant tablespoon of dough around each kiss, covering it completely; shape into balls.

Place the cookies on ungreased cookie sheets and bake for 10 minutes. Cool slightly, then transfer to a rack to cool completely. Roll the cookies in confectioners' sugar.

    Disapointed

Rated: 1 stars out of 5
This recipe calls for way too much butter. I took a bit and all I could taste was butter, gross. The concept is great but you... should think about cutting back on the butter to about a cup or less unless you want a heart attack. Read more

    Help

Rated: 3 stars out of 5
I made these cookies on Sunday and my daughter and I decided they were the best cookie ever. By Wednesday they were so hard... we had to throw them out. You could not even bite into them. I stored them in a plastic air tight container. Also, my cookies didn't flatten they stayed perfectly round. Please help. I would like to make them again.Read more

    saucers :)

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
The cookies were wonderful and a hit with the family. The only thing that went wierd was I rolled my cookie dough into a... ball, and they came out to look like flying saucers, (hence the titel). But dont get me wrong, the cookies were great and im always willing to try something from paula'a kitchen! :)Read more

    Fun cookies

Rated: 4 stars out of 5
These were tasty and fun to make. Just don't expect them to stay round, or you will be sorely disappointed! I also found... that you could use a lot less dough than recommended for each kiss cookie and then get a bigger yield and more chocolate in the chocolate to cookie ratio.Read more
