I was drooling too while watching Paula make this on tv. I made them tonight in my convection oven--35 mins at 350--and they were delish! I didn't have the bacon on hand, so I skipped that, and I used chopped red onion in place of the green pepper in the meat --not on top (personal preference. I can only imagine how yummy these are with crisped bacon!
The important thing that I did differently after reading the reviews was to slice the carrots and potatoes with my mandoline--they cooked perfectly!
The best parts of all were that my 5-year old and 2-year old gobbled them up (not the carrots, of course..., and there was virtually no clean up. Yeah, baby! ;

I just had a paintball themed B-day party for my husband. I made these burgers for the guys, and they were GREAT.

This recipe is my husband and son's favorite. It is simply a meal in one with little clean up. Another winner from Paula !!!

These were sooo good!!!!!! We made these last week. We did ours in the oven instead of the grill. The bacon gives these a nice smoky flavor! (the leftovers were almost as good the next day even In fact, we are having them again tonight!

This was a nice change from the ordinary hamburgers. Got the kids interested in making them and they were happy to taste it. Asked if we can have it again.

Pauls recipe brought back 35 years ago when my mom use to make these on our camping trips. The only thing different she did was add a dollop of cream of mushroom soup to each hobo. Thank you for sharing your recipe. I couldn't remember how it was made until you jogged my memory...
