Great way to have hogs instead of the tradition hotdogs. The kids loved making them and we used some great NY garlic dogs. Presents well and they were a hit! Would make them again and really don't need to add the bacon if you don't want to. They would be great either way. I think I will skip the bacon next time.

did boil in beer, but used Johnsonville spicy brats, but in smaller pieces with sweet n hot chili sauce and a creamed horseradish this now is standard fare at the games! Thank you.

Boil the kielbasa? in beer and drain it. Great flavor and less greasy. Improvise!

Loved the concept and taste, but wanted a more manageable bite sized morsel. Cut the sausage into 1/2 inch slices, wrapped them in a single layer of puff pastry, and voila!

We really enjoyed this one. Perfect quick and fun food for when there isn't a lot of cook time.

This recipe is exactly what I needed when my husband had friends over for the football game. Perfect finger food.
And to everyone who's so negative...GET A LIFE. I just laugh to myself when I see people getting so angry about a simple recipe.

And if this recipe is so beneath you...why bother trying and reviewing it in the first place? Hmmm. Weird.

These are pretty good. And sure they have been done before....but last time I checked Fried Chicken and Lasagna are also not new but people flock to read other people's takes on that too. She doesn't say everything is original idea because most recipes aren't. How many Philly stands are there? How many cheeseburgers? I mean lay off the lady. I went to four name brand food sites that have recipe books and so forth pills, bcrock, kraft and you know what their BIG snack recipe was??? Ants on a log...yep celery with cream cheese or peanut butter and raisins and apparently not EVERYONE in america has heard of them like I assumed. Also people garner ideas from sites and recipes. Sure it may not be a 5 star gourmet item but when I am low on time and I want to see what quick appetizers I can make it is nice to be reminded of the good ole wrapped wiener, or sweet n sour meatball, etc. Stuff I may forget about or mom may not be around to tell me how she use to make it. Thanks Paula keep telling us what you cook. Oh and never hurts to have recipes from the 50's. Fondue was big a few years back and that wasn't a new idea. Be happy she isn't using words like lard like all my church cookbooks have in it. I am like what on earth is lard and everyone cooked with it. So yes she may use butter but at least she isn't telling us to go by crisco by the tubs like mom and grandma use too and use big ole spoons to dump it in.

This is a great quick appetizer to serve at game night. I think she even had it on a show that detailed when she serves this item (just a heads up to those "haters" who have reviewed it. It was not on the show for New Years Day Dinner menus. I used hot links and added a thin piece of cheese instead of kielbasa.
I would only add that as another reviewer commented, quickly boil the sausage. It actually draws out some of the oil in the sausage.
