This was absolutely delicious!!!! I never realized curry powder could be added to fruit...great side dish with the pork. Will definetly do over

This was sooo good! Decent fresh fruit is hard to come by at this time of year, but I think the most important fresh fruit is the pineapple, which was available,and delicious. The pears I found weren't quite ripe, but the baking made them acceptable. The curry flavor, with the sweetness of the brown sugar and fruit, and warm temperature was a wonderful pairing with the pork tenderloin. The curried fruit went well over ice cream too!

I haven't tried this particular recipe, but it looks similar to one my husband's Aunt Sarah introduced to us. She was from southern....Scotland. I have a feeling that this is an older recipe that has been embraced by people all over. Wherever it's from, it's very tasty and a big hit with kids.

Really, really good! Just to clear it up - Paula said she has been eating this dish for years. The more she talks about it the more she finds people who have never had it. "So, I don't know if it's just a Southern thing or what?" - that's what she said. Just rate the recipe and keep the pettiness out of it.

My favorite aunt made this for years. It is exceptional with pork, is easily doubled and is better the next day. She used canned fruit without the lemon juice and nuts. Depending on how it is served, one can of each fruit with some cherries is plenty for 4-6 servings.
Regarding the comments about this being a Southern dish... Most of what we eat has been influenced by the cultures populating the regions where we live. For well over 100 years, curried dishes have been eaten along coastal SC & GA due in part to the pre-Civil War rice trade. Completely Southern? Not really, but it does not negate that these recipes have been prepared and enjoyed by generations.

Would it be ok to double this recipe for a larger crowd without having to make it twice. Just double all ingredients and put in larger bowl. Would the bake time be the same or would it need a longer baking time? I haven't yet made this but I'm sure it would get a 5 star rating

I've been making this for several years--it's perfect with baked ham as well as pork, and the curry flavoring offers a hint of curry that blends so well with the fruit. Excellent choice.

I thought the fruit and nuts is a wonderful dish, however the taste of curry powder was very overwhelming in this dish. I would make this again and maybe use half of the curry or omit it and add cinnamon.
