I saw this recipe on the show yesterday and thought I would give it a try. Everything was going well until I pulled up the recipe on the website and got confused on the part talking about the soup mix. I couldn't remember what to mix the soup with, or to mix it with anything at all, for some reason I thought Paula mixed the soup with chicken stock... but the recipe says "mix soup", so I had to wing it. I mixed the can of soup with half a soup can of chicken stock. The consistency looked good so why not, then I realized I didn't have eggs, so I opted to use celery and onion sauteed with the carrots, I layered the ingredients as outlined, went for my baking mix only to find out that dear ole hubby used it all on pancakes for the girls and didn't put it on the grocery list, so I go to the cupboard and see that I have a box of corn muffin mix, mix that up pour on top, add 3/4 stick melted butter and baked at the temp recommended. It is the bomb... even if it isn't quite Paula's method. But hey, cooking is trial and error isn't it?
It was very easy to make, :O

I will make this again, it would of been nice to know about the chicken broth. When I read the instructions it said mix the soup.. with??? So I mixed it with some water, a bit to much I think. I would like to try this again, the next day it was better and not there was not so much liquid.

I saw the show awhile back, and knew that it needed some moisture with the soup. I was so excited to try this since we ALWAYS have that stuff on hand and like trying different ideas. It was excellent , even though I DIDN'T have any biscuit mix. I topped the dish with mashed potatos and cheese.

I have made this recipe many times and it is always a hit! I made it from the cookbook so I had no questions about the amount of liquid to add. For those who had a problem, I encourage you to try it again!
I love you Paula!

Excellent casserole, but not quite as hurry-up in my kitchen as Paula's. Next time will use low sodium chick soup, as the regular was a little too salty for our taste. Also will thin the soup a bit with milk. Otherwise this was a keeper.

I too used a whole can of chicken broth, and had pot pie stew! Next time, I will only use a cup of broth. On the other hand, I had extra biscuits I made that my family put on top and ate it like stew. Must have been okay, as it was gone! :
