I made this for my husband and myself today and like others giving reviews noticed that the broth was not included in the recipe. But after cooking for more than 50 years I can judge ingredients and know when to compromise. I did not care for the boiled egg. Is this a southern thing? I thought it a bit odd but will not use it the next time. I also did not use as much melted butter on top and added 2 medium diced cooked potatoes and did not use as much liquid in the biscuit mix. This was a very good recipe and I will definitely use it again.

Delicious and easy to prepare! Though, my husband was not too fond of the eggs in this recipe.

After reading the reviews I did add the chicken broth to the soup which is a must. I omitted the egg as I didn't think it sounded palatable and added a little thyme and basil to my sauce. This was excellent! My whole family really enjoyed it. I did have to cook it longer than stated as the bisquit topping to a little longer to fully cook but it was worth the wait! Thanks Paula for a great, easy recipe.

I did notice something was missing from this recipe than what Paula had on her show. I was glad I read the reviews. I used chicken bouillon paste around 2 Tab. to 12 oz of hot water. I changed the recipe by simply adding a whole can of carrots and using 1 cup of peas. Instead of pouring the entire melted stick of butter on top, I mixed half the butter with the topping and drizzled the remaining on top. As Paula recommends I made the recipe my own. I think it is the ultimate comfort food.

I made this recipe only to have to throw it out. I used 1 can of broth only to have the mixture way too soupy. Also after melting a stick up butter & adding that to the topping, I had a pool of butter sitting under the crust, on top of the soupy mixture. What did I do wrong? Can someone help?

Paused my teevo while Paula was making this recipe and made it that second. I followed her directions on the episode which included a can of Chicken broth along with the soup. Next time, I may cut back on that to just a cup or cup and a half, but even as it was, it was delicious and didn't take any time. I'll double the recipe next time, as the whole thing was gone an hour later. Even my three year old loved it!

I made this delicious recipe for the first time many months ago. It is quick and delicious, especially easy if you use a store-bought rotisserie chicken. The entire correct recipe can be found in Paula's second cookbook "The Lady & Sons, Too". I don't understand why the writers of the online recipes have such a hard time getting them correct. Does Paula review them before they go out? Love everything she does. A great lady!

So I saw the end of the episode when Paula took the pie out of the oven and I missed all the prep. I started making it and like most people here, I was confused about the soup. I had one can of condensed cream of chicken soup. I added one can of milk to my soup and heated it up slightly until the soup dissolved. Then, I let it cool a little and used my own judgement on how much soup to add. Basically, I covered the vegetables and chicken with the soup but not to the point that they were floating. Then I put the biscuit on top with the butter. I cook for my father all the time when my mom travels and he usually likes what I cook but rarely complements me. I was shocked last night when he said it was good. We ate it with twice baked potatoes and Racheal Ray's stuffed apples. It was delicious!
